The nearest supermarket, petrol station and taverns are in the nearby vicinity of Kavros, approx 1 km away. A larger variety of shops and taverns can be found in Georgioupolis. It is worth visiting Lake Kournas, the only fresh water lake on Crete, which is also close by (2 km away). The large bustling town of Rethymnon with its historic Venetian and Turkish old quarter is approx 20 km away. Car hire is recommended.
