Well documented walking paths give you the opportunity to explore Crete in a relaxed atmosphere away from the mass tourism. The most famous path is the E4 which is internationally recognized and crossing the province of Rethymno. The Island of Crete is covered with mountains up to 2500 meters high. There are only a few flat areas, mostly around the north coast line. As soon as you leave the north cost of Rethymnon you will find yourself immediately surrounded by unspoiled nature and fields with olive trees. On the paths, some of them created thousands of years ago, you can walk for hours and amaze yourself about the beauty the Island has to offer. For the more challenging routes, you can walk in gorges or dry river beds in the summertime.

 Cycling trough the beautiful Cretan landscape can be relaxing but also challenging because of the differences in heights. A good road map for cycling will be provided on which you can also find information on the difficulty. Because you can carry the bicycles on your car, you can cycle in the wider area from where you stay. You can pick your own routes, based on your fitness level. The bicycles provided are mountain bikes so they can be used for on and off-road cycling. Of course safety comes first and a helmet is provided as well. When you will pick up your bicycles, they will be adjusted for your height. The bicycles are of high quality brand names and well maintained. The bicycle service center suplies Scott, GT and Cube mountain bikes. Road bikes are from the brand Merida. Because of Greek safety regulations, bicycles are not rented out to children under the age of 15 years.

From the port of arrival you will be provided with a car. You can choose a type for two persons or a jeep model for four adult persons. The car has full insurance and unlimited kilometers. The bicycles will be picked up from the rental service station in the city of Rethymnon, where you will also receive instructions on how to mount them on the car.
The road-network in the province of Rethymno contains some bigger roads that make the connection with the main places. The smaller roads will give you the opportunity to even get it the most remote areas. From the place where you stay you can make tours with the car in the close area or make trips to other parts of the island. Because the maps are provided to you before you arrive, you can decide your routes already when you are still at home.

All accommodation are specially selected for the tours and each of them form the starting point of many trips to discover the area. You decide yourself where to stay and for how many days. Although the standard rooms are of excellent quality, in most accommodations we offer also and upgrade to a bigger size room if preferred. For people traveling with their family or group we have the option to combine the packages or use the "group" package based on 4 persons traveling in one car and stay in the same accommodation room. Other options can always be requested. Keep in mind that it is not allowed by Greek regulations to rent bicycles to children under the age of 15 years old.
